The Civil Unit’s main objective is to serve all process in a reasonable and timely manner while maintaining a position of impartiality toward all parties involved in each case.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office’s Civil Process Coordinator has the responsibility of receiving, tracking and maintaining all civil process that come to the Sheriff’s Office. These include Orders of Protection, Summonses, Subpoenas, Eviction Notices, and various Writs. The Civil Process Coordinator also deals with felony arrest warrants from Circuit Court and maintains the Sheriff’s Fee Account.
** All processes must be brought or mailed to the ACSO and include a check or money order for $45 (plus $5 per additional defendant who is residing at the same address), the orginal process, the return process, a self-addressed, stamped envelope that also includes a return address**
