On the afternoon of July 11, 2022, deputies with Adams County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle being operated by Tommy Kennon. During the traffic stop, deputies received consent to search the vehicle from Kennon. A back pack found inside the vehicle that contained approximately 13 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The passenger, Johnny Stevens, claimed ownership of the back pack and its contents. Several used syringes were found in the truck that Kennon claimed ownership too.
A computer check showed that Stevens had active arrest warrants with Natchez Police Department for Forgery and Probation Violation Warrant in Concordia Parish. Deputies also learned that Kennon also had active arrest warrant for his arrest for Probation Violation in Concordia Parish. Both Stevens and Kennon were arrested and transported to the Adams County Jail.
Stevens was charged with Possession of Sch. II Drug (Methamphetamine) w/ Intent and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Kennnon was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both Kennon and Stevens had holds placed on them for their active warrants with the other departments.
